Margaret McDonald, piano and Friends

Get yourself into a romantic mood just in time for Valentine’s Day. Margaret McDonald will be joined by CU faculty members Judith Glyde, Margaret Lattimore, and Christopher Zemliauskas for an evening of works by Rachmaninoff. The program will include his famous Vocalise, Suite No. 2 for Two Pianos, and Sonata Op. 19 for Cello and Piano.

Feb. 13 Active Minds Lecture: Afghanistan @ TC

The Active Minds Lecture series will focus on the current state of Afghanistan on Tuesday, February 13 at 5:30 p.m. at the Tattered Cover on Colfax. Everyone is welcome*, and reservations are recommended; call 303-436-9291 ext. 2728 to RSVP.

* In checking out the Active Minds website, it would appear that these lectures are geared toward the senior citizen community, but they do specify that everyone is welcome.

Feb. 11 Free Day @ Denver Museum of Nature & Science

Sunday, February 11 is an SCFD-funded day of free admission to the Denver Museum of Nature & Science. And as if that wasn't fab enough, there's free parking available, too!

Feb. 11 Kristin Hersh in-store @ Twist & Shout

On Sunday, Feb. 11, Kristin Hersh, formerly of Throwing Muses, will be doing an in-store at Twist & Shout Records at 5:00 p.m. This is being billed as her only live appearance in Colorado, so if you're interested, I suggest showing up somewhat early as I'm sure her longtime fans will be out in force.

While not strictly a free event, Stories on Stage offers pay-what-you-can tickets to all of their events. All you have to do is ask.
